The first president of the Kingston Horticultural Society was the Baron de Longueil, who owned Wolfe Island…yes, that was a long time ago. The Daily News in 1856 reports that the first KHS horticultural show was held that summer, on July 2, at City Hall, with music from the officers of Her Majesty’s 9th Regiment Band. A second show was held in October 1857. To be continued…
Thank you to all of you who helped out at the plant sale and who brought plants and tools and baskets, and more… It was a great success!
Suzanne on behalf of the Plant Sale committee
The plant sale is tomorrow, May 25, 10-1. See location and details under Events in the top menu. See you there!
The annual plant sale is coming up: May 25. Lots of information available under the Events tab above. Join our team of volunteers to make this a fantastic event. Use the contact us link, also above, no previous experience required.
If you have unused garden tools, clean and in good condition, consider bringing them to the May 9, 2019 meeting. The Plant Sale committee is thinking that we could have a table of gently used tools for sale.
