The Kingston Horticultural Society is a group of friendly green thumbs. The scope of our activities is limited only by the number of willing volunteers to staff both regular committee spaces and one time events. Consider volunteering your time for any of our activities or as a member of our Board of Directors.
Every year, KHS members volunteer thousands of hours running the Society, organizing Society events and other community activities that promote horticulture, community beautification and protecting the environment. While not a requirement to be a member, we’re always grateful for volunteers to assist with Society activities, including:
- Community gardening at our public plantings and KHS garden projects such as the Pollinator Garden and Paterson Memorial Rock Garden
- Hidden Treasures Garden Tour
- Serving on the KHS Executive and Board, and working on related committees
- Spring plant sale
In 2007, the Society was honoured with the June Callwood Outstanding Achievement Award for Volunteerism to recognize its members’ contributions to their community and the province.
Please help contribute to Kingston’s beautification and environmental sustainability.
