Planting for Success

Presented by Mary Ann van Berlo

We have one chance to get our plants off to a good start – so planting them properly is highly important. Much research and observation have changed the recommendations for the planting of trees and shrubs as well as perennials. Mary Ann will tell us why root washing and root pruning are important steps to ensure the vigour and longevity of your transplant. She’ll also explain why staking and amending the soil in the transplant hole no longer recommended.

Also Member Flower Show.

New Location: Holiday Inn – Kingston West

8:30 p.m. Entertainment
We all know to admire our gardens, to “smell the roses” and to touch the velvet of some leaves and flowers, but what about listening to our plants? Not just listening to the rain or the wind, really hearing music created by the plant’s inner movements. Curious? Please join us!

According to our by-laws we require a minimum of 15 members in order to conduct our AGM.

Please RSVP if you plan to attend so that we can ensure sufficient numbers for a quorum. See The Columbine newsletter for more details.

We need your support in this process.

Please don’t assume that we will have enough members without YOU. We promise to keep the business portion of the meeting as brief as we can.
